3D printing, casting and moulding PD

Over 2 sessions the Deception Bay library and community representatives are invited to explore 3D printing skills and/or expand upon existing skills of running 3D printing workshops. The sessions will also explore 3D casting and moulding.

Areas that will be covered are:

- 3D printing inductions (with paperwork)

- supporting community to engage with 3D printing

- how to train community from a range of backgrounds and literacy levels

- how to use free cad and drawing software

- Using basic moulding, casting and vacuum forming techniques to extend the applications and community engagement potential of 3D printing.

What could you make in your community after this process?

There are so many possibilities!

- Design and make masks,

- Make items out of plaster of paris (garden gnomes, eggs for Easter etc) that then could be painted by children.

- Make small replacement parts for everyday equipment.

With the moulding and casting capabilities you can make large numbers of objects that
