Be encouraging and accepting of their worries and adapt with having different groups that are similar in age when hosting programs, or can offer one on one or a small group that they would feel comfortable with
Katrina T, 2022/10/13 09:21
You're never too old to learn, starting at the local library with free computing classes. You can also bring a helper with you, the environment would be welcoming, friendly and open to all ages of learning.
Andrea, 2022/10/13 09:19
Let them know they are not too old, there are many apps and websites set up to be user friendly for everyday life.
Ash, 2022/07/29 16:17
Tech Savvy Seniors proves you are never to old to learn technology skills.
Continuing to use our mind, and experiencing new things helps our brain to stay healthy and active.
Janette, 2022/03/26 09:42
Its never too old to learn something new.
The internet is a great place to find information on your own personal interest.
Neill Hahn, 2021/04/09 18:54
Reassure the person that many of the users of modern tech devices and the internet are older people; that it's for young people only is an unsupported myth, (mostly held by older people). Explain that as we get older, we may not get around as easily, so using the Tech makes us still able to effectively stay connected to the people we love, even if we can't get to them as often as we wish. (I have the advantage of being the older age group too, so can encourage by example.)
Stephanie, 2021/04/01 12:10
Let them know that lots of the people learning to use computers are their age and the training is tailored to suit their needs as a beginner
Georgia, 2021/04/01 10:48
Let them know that there is no age limit to learning something new and that having new skills is something very rewarding no matter what age.
Jessica, 2021/03/31 12:43
Reassure them that they are never to old to learn and just the fact that they are willing to try is a huge step forward.
Richelle Ryan, 2021/03/31 11:17
Provide encouragement.
Look for their interests - connecting with family and use this as a motivator to break through.
Paese Sagafili, 2021/03/16 13:03
Remind them that Tech Savvy Seniors are for seniors; that all seniors who started learning felt the same way and have gone to using their preferred devices independently. Explain the benefits of learning; that it's a great way to stay in touch with friends and families, staying connected with people with similar interests, and creating own hobbies.
Linda, 2021/03/05 11:38
You are never too old to learn
Robina, 2021/03/04 12:48
Let them know that are never to old, make it fun and search for activities/hobbies that interest them.
Mark, 2021/02/28 20:50
This could be an opportunity to talk about their personal interests and hobbies and show them the breadth of information available on their favourite topics online.
GERARDINE MARY LAAN, 2021/02/24 14:56
Hey if you remain receptive to new ideas you'll never grow old.
That was my uncle's belief when he took to his new computer at the age of ninety
Judith Di Gregorio, 2021/02/23 14:18
Assure them they are never to old and that learning new things is very good for old people. Again use humor.

Pam, 2020/12/24 10:56
Explain you are never to old to learn something new.
Maree Taylor, 2020/11/16 12:58
I have taught people in their late 80s simply choose something they are interested in or would get benefit from.
Tracie, 2020/11/04 14:30
No one is too old to learn, reassure that they have access to support.
Jodie, 2020/10/28 16:16
Explain to the customer that they are never too old to learn something new.
fiona thackray, 2020/10/27 18:22
You are never too old.!!
Desiree Stacpoole, 2020/10/27 15:15
Many have said that, and it is best to start with something you want to learn.
Why not join a Tech Savvy class, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Allana, 2020/10/22 11:26
Tell them about Tech Savvy Seniors and one on one Tech Help sessions that are available and let them know that there are always new tricks to learn and age is nothing but a number.
Pearl, 2020/10/15 14:40
Suggest tech savvy classes and offer words of encouragement.
Kirsty Snadden, 2020/10/12 16:11
Suggest groups with similar aged people
Pam, 2020/10/12 14:40
There's no such thing as a "digital native". There's also no way anybody can learn *everything* about computers & the internet. We all just learn the bits that we need to know, as we need to learn them. They don't have to feel like they are too old to learn computers.
What are the ways they already use the internet (Facebook?) or computers (sewing machines, cars, EFTPOS)?
Hannah, 2020/10/06 13:00
Let them know that age is nothing but a number and life's about learning new skills when you can.
Colleen Hobdell, 2020/10/02 09:50
Reassure, talk about everyday benefits of basic technology
Carolyn Beattie, 2020/10/01 10:54

Anna, 2020/09/30 10:08
Your are never too old to learn something new!
Tegan, 2020/09/28 12:27
No one is ever too old to start learning, let them know of classes with similar aged people and abilities plus one on on help sessions if they are uncomfortable.
Gemma, 2020/09/23 16:24
Classes are targeted at the older population so as long as they are willing to give it a go, I'm sure they will surprise themselves by what they learn.
Susan , 2020/09/23 12:16
We are never to old to learn something new and exciting, imagine the look on your grandkids when you send them a funny picture on social media.
Theresa, 2020/09/23 11:08
Never!! Funny how you hear this from people in their 60s, when you get people in their 90s booking into classes. I tend to talk about the things they're into: caravaning, cooking, craft, DIY and discuss access to the amazing sites they could use. I also mention some things that have moved online; passports, banking, MyGov, shopping, golf (since COVID). Having that basic knowledge and confidence to take advantage of these sites really makes life easier, at any age.
Alexis, 2020/09/21 15:13
Explain that most of the classes offered are for older people and how many of them have already built their confidence through library classes.
Jodie, 2020/09/18 14:42
Tell them that they are never too old to learn. I would maybe give examples of customers in the past who were similar and after doing Tech Savvy Courses are now confident and can use a computer, tablet/iPad or phone on their own and suggest to them that maybe that they could do the Tech Savvy Courses also.
Chloe Patch, 2020/09/15 15:44
There are no real age limits when it comes to technology, computers and devices.
Age doesn't matter as long as you want to try and give it a fair go. It might be a bit hard at first but that's why we are here to help.
Petrina, 2020/09/15 14:00
Let them know that everyone had to start someone and everyone can learn, maybe give them examples of past students who are now using technology with ease.
Jacki Hastings, 2020/09/14 15:54
Let them know they are never too old to learn. Suggest attending a course and seeing for themselves.
Eleanor, 2020/09/10 15:55
No one is too old. I would tell them about my father who was in his 60s when he got his first iPad and now he can't live without it.
Jennifer , 2020/09/10 11:06
I always say your never to old. Suggest coming to a class to find out for themselves
Katrine, 2020/09/03 12:18
Your never too old to try something new. On the internet you can do and learn all kinds of things. I bet you can find something of interest?
sue, 2020/08/31 11:13
Through Tech Savvy Seniors training it shows that no one is too old to learn digital technology
Natasha, 2020/08/28 17:06
Age is nothing but a number. 'Is it convenient and does it meet my needs?'. My 70 yr old Dad asks himself when it comes to using a PC or device and then makes an informed decision.
Christi, 2020/08/26 10:58
You are never to old to learn something new, there is the phrase used in teaching - 'life long learning' - which includes people of all ages. Many people who attend our classes are well into their 70s and 80s, you just have to keep and open mind and be brave to try something new
Sharynn, 2020/08/19 13:11
You are never too old. Take notice of their interest and show them what is suitable for their needs.
Tammy, 2020/08/18 16:06
Encouraging the client to join with other learners in the same age group. Showing positive feedback.
