Let them know the benefits and convenience
Janette, 2022/03/26 10:05
Find out what they are interested in and adjust from there.
Caroline, 2021/08/05 15:26
Revisit their reason for wanting to learn digital and be patient and empathetic.
Neill Hahn, 2021/04/09 19:34
It would seem unlikely that the person would come for help if they didn't like learning, but if they have come, them make the practice sessions as enjoyable and as rewarding as possible to highlight the benefits of making their way through it.
Stephanie, 2021/04/01 12:26
Be understanding of their reasons that they don't want to learn, and empathise with them. With patience and compassion explain some ways that they may benefit from or enjoy using technology
Georgia, 2021/04/01 10:54
Listen to their problems first and foremost. Once you have identified why they don't want to learn, try and show them the positives and try to find an interest of theirs that can be expanded on by using technology.
Jessica, 2021/03/31 13:05
Listen and allow them to vent their frustration. In today's society people can feel like they are being forced into learning and using technologies faster than they can handle. Don't rush them, reassure them that they can take their time and you can go as slowly as they need and repeat things as they need. Find out what they need to know and just focus on that. Try and spark some interest by finding out what they like and trying to link it to the technology.
Richelle Ryan, 2021/03/31 11:32
Get to know the person, find what they are interested in and use that. it wont be learning then.
Be patient and accepting.
Paese, 2021/03/16 13:47
Discretely observe the person's body language and behavior. Is the person uncomfortable. Perhaps it's the environment. Ask if there is anything you can do to help (change / adjust the seat, lighting, sitting next to someone who talks too much or too loud, maybe tired (take a break) or maybe health related. Provide adequate support and understanding.
Linda, 2021/03/05 11:47
Find out what they are interested in and adjust from there. Make it interesting for them.
Robina, 2021/03/04 12:58
Find the interests of the customer and start there. Help them discover all the different format's that their interest may come in, youtube, images etc.
Mark, 2021/02/28 21:04
Find out their interests, particularly in regards to more visual elements (images searches etc).
Look at online games initially, drawing attention away from the learning aspect.
GERARDINE MARY LAAN, 2021/02/24 15:22
Find out their passions or subjects that interest them. Encourage them to go on -line to videos or shopping to make it pleasurable. That way they will be taking away something tangible created by their learning.
Judith Di Gregorio, 2021/02/23 14:25
Take time to understand their interests and be positive and show them what the computer can do for them so they see a purpose in learning. Encourgage them.
k, 2021/02/18 14:07
induce positivity, learn individual interest.
Debbie, 2021/02/13 10:09
Be positive and find a subject that is of interest to the customer
Pam, 2020/12/24 12:01
Negativity gets you nowhere. Encourage to give learning a go, they will gain more confidence.
Tanaya, 2020/10/31 10:22
Individualise the experience to that particular customers needs, maybe have a lot of short sessions instead of long bulky sessions. A lot of people who don't like learning are normally too restless to just sit there. Alternatively you can have regular breaks. Keeping in mind that it is probably easier to keep the sessions informal and relaxed.
Jodie, 2020/10/28 16:36
Show them the benefits of o using a computer and being able to search the internet.
fiona thackray, 2020/10/27 18:34
Establish a rapport with customer - use humour -try and put a positive spin on things - don't dwell on their negativity!
Jodie, 2020/10/26 11:00
Show them something they're interested in. Make it fun so that they can turn it in to a positive.
Amy, 2020/10/21 10:55
Create rapport and get to know them so you can understand why they may feel this way - connecting to a customer may alter their perception and confidence - this can also allow them to see the benefits.
Kirsty, 2020/10/12 16:18
Suggest benefits, be patient
Pam, 2020/10/12 15:20
Give them a chance to vent. Often, we feel like we are being forced into learning new technologies faster than we can cope with. Take things slowly, don't rush them. Find out what, specifically, they need to know. Maybe they just need to know how to forward an email, but think that they have to learn *all* about the internet.
They are adults, not schoolchildren. If they don't want to be there, I'm not going to force them! Have a conversation about how technology can be a useful tool, hopefully sparking an idea in their brain for the future.
Leisa , 2020/10/09 09:33
I would try to be as encouraging as I could and keep suggesting positive options when they are being negative. Try to include some humour to keep things positive and non-judgmental.
Hannah, 2020/10/06 13:09
Find out what they are interested in and try to grab their interest using their interests. Show them that it can be exciting to learn new skills.
Colleen Hobdell, 2020/10/02 09:56
Try your best to create rapport
Carolyn Beattie, 2020/10/01 11:05
Try to understand what is holding them back, and learn about their interests. Try to provide training that is a positive experience for them.
Anna, 2020/09/30 10:19
Try to uncover why they are negative towards learning new skills - and tailor things to suit them as a person. That way it will be more appealing and interesting for them (maybe even fun)
Tegan, 2020/09/28 12:54
Find out why they are not interested, share some of the benefits and provide a positive experience
Kerry, 2020/09/28 09:52
I would show them something of interest but also give my experiences of how I use it and how I have learnt along the way.
Susan , 2020/09/23 12:32
Show them something they are interested in and make the experience a positive one.
Chloe Patch, 2020/09/15 16:14
Show them something they are interested in on a computer or device and encourage them to be positive. Learning can be fun too.
Petrina, 2020/09/15 14:21
Try and find out why they are negative - does the teaching style not suit them? Maybe they don't like reading notes and applying knowledge but might be great at learning in a practical session. Focus on topics they are interested in and show them how technology can be applied to those interests.
Jacki Hastings, 2020/09/14 16:08
Find out what they are interested in and demonstrate what technology can offer them in regards to their interests.
Eleanor, 2020/09/10 16:07
Understand why they have a negative attitude so you can show them ways technology can help them with their interests.
Jennifer , 2020/09/10 11:25
Find out there interests share how technology can help them with there interests. A calm and relaxed approach
Katrine, 2020/09/03 12:46
Appeal to what interests them. Ask them what hobbies or interests they have. Show them how they can find info and resources on/about these interests online.
Don't make it about the 'learning' make it about being fun and interesting to do.
sue, 2020/08/31 11:25
start at the beginning. customers can't be forced to learn. Be prepared for some negativity and try to make the learning experience fun and don't make each lesson too involved
Natasha, 2020/08/28 18:06
Take the training outside. Relate the training and learning to the environment.
Christi, 2020/08/26 11:18
Find out what they are interesting in. Show them how technology can benefit them in particular
Tammy, 2020/08/20 16:00
Offer learning in a completely different way to what the client is expecting.
Sharynn, 2020/08/19 13:49
Positive attitude towards learning. Incivility. Look for underlying problems and refer if necessary.
Nicole , 2020/08/18 14:41
