Handouts and notetaking, also cheat sheets. Visual aids also help.
Janette, 2022/03/26 09:56
Encourage note-taking and provide handouts of what was covered in the session.
Caroline, 2021/08/05 15:20
Encourage note-taking and provide handouts of what was covered in the session. Refer to beconnected website where patrons can go over lesson content again at their own pace. Encourage them to practice what they have learnt as often as possible, as that is what makes perfect (and helps retain information).
Neill Hahn, 2021/04/09 19:28
Written or diagrammatic explanations and reminders they can take away.
Find out if there are other resources available that would suit the persons needs
Stephanie, 2021/04/01 12:29
Encourage them to take notes or draw diagrams if that helps them. Provide printouts or show them videos, that they may find it easier to remember
Georgia, 2021/04/01 10:59
Write out a step by step instruction that they can come back to if they forget. Print out some tips and tricks they can take home and encourage them to write their own steps in their own words. Have little prompts to allow them to jog their memory, if possible.
Jessica, 2021/03/31 12:54
Provide step-by-step instructions and handouts as well as information sheets with tips/tricks that the patron can take home and refer back to if needed. Encourage them to take notes in their own words as you go as well.
Richelle Ryan, 2021/03/31 11:29
agree with comments on cheat sheets and providing handouts. Assist them to devise their own reminder system - they probably have a way they cope everyday.
Paese, 2021/03/16 13:29
Remind individuals to make their own notes on the 'hand-outs'. These notes should make sense to the individuals. Use highlights if they wish, or what ever learning methods that works for the individual. It may also mean recording the sessions.
Sonia, 2021/03/16 12:17

Printed handouts; writing things down as they go to reinforce ideas and concepts
Tanaya, 2020/10/31 10:18
I write step by step cheat sheets for most of my customers to refer to. I will do this with the customer throughout the session to ensure that the most relevant information for the particular customer is recorded.
Jodie, 2020/10/28 16:29
Provide them with prints outs for them to refer back to and suggest they write down information in a notebook.

Allana, 2020/10/22 11:34
Help with providing printouts and suggest a notebook that they can make notes in to help when they are at home without assistance close by
Amy, 2020/10/21 10:51
Ensure not to overwhelm them with course material and to remain at a slower pace. I'd allow them to take notes and possibly repeat the course until they are confident.

Printing out the basics for the customers to follow step by step each time they come will help build the learning experience and boost confidence in their independence.
Alexis, 2020/09/21 15:29
Cheat sheets and repeat classes. Perhaps alter pace and size of class.
Chloe Patch, 2020/09/15 16:05
Maybe write some simple steps out for them or print some simple guides of the internet for them to keep and refer back to when needed.
Practice doing one particular thing over and over again such as turning the computer on and going to google until they are confident they could do it by themselves and then move on to the next step.
Petrina, 2020/09/15 14:15
Encourage them to take the printed lesson notes and re-read/ practise ( if they have the means) at home so it is easier to retain the knowledge for the next session. Run a small re-cap going over key points of last session at the start of new training lesson. Let them know they are welcome to stay after the session and use the devices at their own pace if they would like to go back over anything.
Jacki Hastings, 2020/09/14 16:05

Katrine, 2020/09/03 12:41
As memory is an issue I'd put in place just one strategy they can use so as not to overwhelm them.
I'd provide cheat sheets and handouts with clear easy to follow steps that they can have next to the computer.

Search for online help that is presented in an alternative way. Video and graphics can be more user friendly than typical "lessons". Find the learning style that the client is comfortable with.
