Google Expeditions

Google Expeditions is an immersive education app that allows teachers and students to explore the world through over 1000 virtual-reality (VR) and 100 augmented-reality (AR) tours. You can swim with sharks, visit outer space, and more without leaving the classroom.

Product Cost Smartphone $300+
Headsets range from $10 (cardboard) to $50 (plasic)
Where to Purchase Headsets (without smartphone) can be purchased from most electronics stores such as LittleBird Electronics

Product Requirements

A supported phone and headset is required for a basic setup. Internet access may also be required for some expeditions.

Loanable Kits

State Library has kits of this item available for loan to libraries within the Regional Libraries Queensland and Indigenous Knowledge Centres network. Libraries can place a reservation through the Aurora catalogue (availability is subject to existing reservations, loans and associated return dates).

The kits are for use by patrons within the library only, as part of supervised library programming. They will not be listed in the public online catalogue for personal reservation.
